We still don’t need another hero refers to a piece of postmodern artist Barbara Kruger entitled We don’t need another hero from 1986. “We don’t need another hero shows a little girl pointing to the flexed arm of a little boy. The little girl’s expression could be interpreted as awe: “Wow! What big muscles you have.” The boy glances back at the girl with one eyebrow raised, looking to see if he impresses her with his manliness.” [Debora Wood, Art and Transformation in Issues in Integrative Studies No. 16, pp. 57-71 (1998)] The illustration is combined with the text “We don’t need another hero” by Tina Turner, which makes the girl saying “we do not need any more of your kind”. We still don’t need another hero brings a contemporary approach into that discussion.
