The present thesis on the topic of interface development in media arts and the video game industry is a theoretical paper and is completed by an interactive CD-ROM. In the first section, the different interface technologies which are utilized in the video game industry as well as in media arts will be analyzed and compared in terms of development, functionality and application. In the second section the connecting link and interplay between media arts and the video game industry will be identified and determined, also addressing current issues and tendencies. The final element of the paper is an appendix, which contains the biographies of media artists, company profiles, a glossary, as well as, a summary of research steps.
